Compton partners with Eastside to raise funds to achieve arts education at scale for young people
We have recently started working with Eastside Educational Trust, a charity that has spent more than three decades championing creativity as a right, not a privilege. Founded in Hackney in 1994, Eastside has become a leading force in youth and arts education. Their mission is simple yet powerful: to empower young people through creativity.
Every year, Eastside delivers thousands of workshops and programmes that help the most underserved children and teenagers build confidence, express themselves, and discover pathways into the creative industries. In 2024–2025 alone, they reached 56,275 young people through 2,114 workshops.
Why this work matters
The need for Eastside’s work has never been greater. Arts education has been squeezed out of the curriculum, and years of underinvestment have hit the most vulnerable communities hardest. At the same time, the UK’s creative industries contribute £125 billion to the economy – yet for many young people, these opportunities remain out of reach.
Compton’s role
At Compton, we are proud of our work helping mission-driven organisations achieve bold ambitions. For Eastside, that means conducting a feasibility study to explore how they can scale their proven programmes across all 32 London boroughs, deepen their impact in under-invested communities, and secure the philanthropic investment needed to make it happen.
Our work will provide Eastside with a clear roadmap for growth, identifying the resources, partnerships, and strategies required to deliver their vision.
