Magpas: a leader in Pre Hospital Emergency Medicine
Magpas Air Ambulance is a charity funded healthcare provider that has been saving lives for nearly 50 years in the East of England and beyond.
As a result of its operational experience and the medically-led quality of its services, Magpas has become a multi-award winning leader in Pre Hospital Emergency Medical Training (PHEM) using its Cambridgeshire base to train the UK’s first accredited Doctors in this area of medicine. Magpas remains the leading training provider with doctors from the service working across the NHS and internationally.
We are working with the Magpas team on a £2 million campaign for its new bespoke operations base at Alconbury Weald.
Whittington Hospital Charitable Funds: the power of grateful patient networks
We were appointed to provide interim fundraising direction and management services at the Whittington in 2019.
Following a fundraising strategy review, we worked alongside in-house team members and key clinicians to raise capital funding for a children’s Play Terrace and to establish a proactive annual fundraising programme. Within a few weeks of being on site we were able to meet with the mother of a patient on the children’s ward who, with support, was able to engage her family and friends with the fundraising need. A number of information and cultivation events, including a guest appearance from Benedict Cumberbatch at a coffee morning, helped to identify further supporters and achieve the fundraising goal.
Whittington offers a great example of the power of volunteer-led fundraising and how harnessing the support of key clinicians to find volunteer champions, donors and networkers can enable successful fundraising and ongoing social capital.
Taunton & Somerset NHS Foundation Trust: the power of a grateful community
We have been working with the Love Musgrove Charity in Taunton since 2016 to establish a fundraising department.
Following a fundraising feasibility study to identify leaders and major donors, The MRI million campaign was launched in April 2017 by England and Somerset cricketer, Marcus Trescothick MBE, and exceeded its £1 million goal in 2018. Gift levels ranged from £7.50 to £75,000 in a campaign that harnessed the gratitude of an entire community towards the NHS and the Musgrove Hospital as a whole.
We continue our work with NHS charitable funds in Taunton and wider Somerset on a range of other projects and a growing annual fund.
