With the reduction of food waste and the needs of the working poor both in the news, it was our privilege to work alongside the City Harvest London team to further develop its fundraising case for support and prospect pipeline.
The last decade has seen great changes in how civic and community charitable organisations are governed, operated and funded – including a much greater emphasis on localism and reliance upon charities and special interest groups working with branches of government to provide community facilities, programmes and services.
Usually as a result of a renewed strategic vision and changes in funding, these organisations engage our expertise to deliver targeted capital campaigns or to test and develop plans to drive sustainable, annual funding.
The Museum of Brands moved to its Notting Hill mews location in 2005 but was bursting at the seams with over 1 million items, 200 years of consumer history and 500 “brand” stories. We worked with the Museum’s team to plan a major relocation to the Lighthouse Building on Lancaster Road in West London.
Our team worked closely with the SVR volunteer network to plan and develop a range of fundraising streams to ensure the continued preservation of this historic heritage railway for future generations.
Since then over £4 million has been raised in donations and gifts in wills and £1 million invested in the Future Fund (an endowment fund supported by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund). In addition, SVR now has support from over 500 regular donors and a number of corporate partners.
Blueprint for Better Business
Blueprint has developed a set of principles and a framework to put people back at the heart of business and other organisations. With 16 of the Top FTSE 100 companies already engaged with Blueprint, the questions and solutions posed by this growing movement are gaining traction at home and overseas. We were pleased to work alongside the charity’s Chief Executive and Trustees to raise operational capital for Blueprint.
