Schools & Colleges

Compton — Schools & Colleges

We have been advising schools and colleges on how to raise capital funds and establish sustainable ongoing fundraising programmes since the early 1960s. Schools and colleges are, by their nature, closed constituencies of parents, alumni and other stakeholders who value their work and, if asked in the right way, will give back to them.

We work with governing bodies, leadership teams and Development Offices in two main areas:

  • Testing, planning and managing capital fundraising projects and programmes (See our Publications: Resources Study Issues Paper.)
  • Conducting fundraising strategy reviews to ensure that the right people, systems, tools and plans are in place to deliver return on investment in the new landscape (See our Publications: Fundraising in the New Landscape Issues Paper).

St Peter’s School, York: “Keys for Life” bursary campaign

St Peter’s – one of the world’s oldest schools – will celebrate its 1,400th anniversary in 2027. but is looking to the future through a capital fundraising campaign that will ensure the school thrives over the next 100 years. We worked alongside the Headmaster and the St Peter’s Development team to test, plan and kickstart the “Keys for Life” bursary campaign.

Wycombe Abbey School: 125 years of excellence

Our work with Wycombe Abbey began in 2014 to restructure the School’s Development Office. We went on from the initial fundraising strategy review to plan and manage a successful capital campaign, including the largest single gift in the school’s history. We also built on the momentum of the capital campaign with the introduction of structured and proactive annual giving and legacy campaigns.

We are working alongside the Victoria College Foundation to develop a plan to enhance its bursary provision.

Queen Mary’s Grammar School, Walsall (QMGS)
