Celebrating World Theatre Day

Initiated in 1962 by the International Theatre Institute, World Theatre Day celebrates the beauty, creativity, hard work and artistry that goes into all of the aspects of theatre production.

Five years on from the Pandemic, we are still rebuilding audiences and understanding the social benefits of our theatres in the community in terms of well being and education  – as well as the significant economic impact of creative industries at home and overseas.

So we are pleased to have played our role in theatre and performance developments on stages around the world, from San Francisco Performances to Palmerston North in New Zealand, from the Empire Theatre in Toowoomba Queensland to Shakespeare’s Globe, the Southwark Playhouse and Young Vic in London.

And thank you to all of the vision and creativity of theatre leaders, cast members, behind the scenes team, development board members and volunteers that has driven our recent and current work with the Theatre Royal Plymouth, Intermission Youth Theatre, the Orange Tree Theatre Richmond and the National Youth Theatre.
